I finally have gotten Dromad sponsored and up on Retromundi! Play now; the highscores are still really low, and you can get higher ;)
Dramatic Game Description: Play as a man trapped inside a dungeon-like tomb fighting for his life against a number of different kinds of enemies. From blob-spawning monsters, to armored men, to ghosts and even cyclops, you will have to earn your way through with different upgrades to either of your weapons. Falling sand surrounds you on all sides, making your only escape a blaster in one hand, and a grenade launcher in the other.
Basic Game Description: Dromad is a basic top-view shooter where the player can shoot left and right to kill different kinds of enemies. As far as I’ve been able to see, nobody has even come close to seeing all the content thus far by the scores; I want to see a screenshot when someone gets to a cyclops!
Controls:
X: Shoot
C: Change weapon
Arrow Keys: Move
M: Mute
P: Pause
R: Restart
V: More games
History: Dromad was started on Thanksgiving break and finished in five days over thirty hours; this was created to try and test my abilities on the market for indie games. I calculated it out, and I successfully earned more per hour on this than I do at my current day job, which could mean that I will be quitting and becoming a part-time indie dev :o
This is the first gameplay video for Dromad, which is to be released soon hopefully by the sponsor “retromundi.com”. I worked on it nearing on two months ago, after which I posted it on FlashGameLicense.com, where I’ve been waiting on bidding. Hope you like it!
This screenshot shows a fallen stalactites alongside a light beam that shows when you’ve gotten a bit underground and the light is bright on the surface. Right above the player is part of a skeleton, which can be uncovered for extra ore, and below is a bat which will hurt the player when it hits you.
I’ve added a lot of different features to Havern, and here are a couple. You can see some ruins with a pillar and floor tiles, along with a quad-light, which you’ll have to find out how to make when you play!
I’ve just finished my latest song, Jungle. It’s my favorite thus far, and I implemented a few musical methods I learned from my girlfriend in it.
Artifacts and purple lights!
I’ve begun to make the artifacts that will be inside of caves in Havern that will do various things, like power you up, give you treasure bonuses, and much more. Here are the first three I’ve drawn thus far.
I added some specular highlighting (or bump-mapping? I don’t know the difference, in this case) to the rocks. The image on the left has the new highlights, while the one on the right is the traditional version.
Anonymous asked: So does this mean you're killing your Blogpost blog?
Sadly, yes it does. I haven’t updated it in a long time, and I was finding it difficult to customize and simplify the way I wanted; the style didn’t really fit the way I wanted. Plus, this one seemed like more fun!
